He was born in Vigo (Spain). After studying art history and guitar, he took an advanced course in viola da gamba with Marianne Muller at the Conservatoire National de Musique in Lyon.

He is a founder member of L’Assemblée des Honnestes Curieux with whom he has awarded the first prize at the Premio Rovereto in 1998, and has appeared at the Théâtre du Châtelet and at such festivals as Sablé, Urbino, Ambronay, and Via Stellae.
